In “The Night Manager,” the story follows Shantanu ‘Shaan’ Sengupta, a former Lieutenant in the Indian Navy, who now works as a night manager at a prestigious hotel in Dhaka. The plot unfolds against the backdrop of the Rohingya genocide in 2017.

One day, Shaan is approached by Safina Kidwai, the wife of Freddie Rehman, the majority shareholder of the hotel. Safina implores Shaan to help her escape to India, seeking his assistance to flee from the perilous situation in Dhaka.
